I don’t have to tell
you that these are lean times. That is why I need you to
join the Conservation Leaders Network now.
You know I work
for the only organization that focuses on working
with county commissioners to protect America’s natural
resources. And I need your help now.
If I can’t
interest county officials like you to support the work of
the Conservation Leaders Network now, this organization
won’t be here to make sure pro-environment county voices are
heard when they need to be.
You know it’s not
just America’s wildlife that needs a healthy environment.
We all depend on fresh air, clean water, forests,
biodiversity, ecosystem services—human life also needs these
resources to continue to exist on this planet.
For only $45 a
year, you can join the Conservation Leaders Network.
Your membership
will help keep this vital organization going through these
tough times.
Some of our
successes include:
-
I worked with
members of the National Association of Counties’
Environment, Energy and Land Use Committee to support
clean water position.
-
The Conservation
Leaders Network generated support for the County Choice
Amendment to S. 1608. This victorious effort prevented
counties in 41 states from being forced to forfeit 15% of
their federal forest revenues.
-
I helped county
officials get the National Association of Counties to
recognize climate change.
-
I generated
county support from 4 states to aid in the passage through
committee of the Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness in Idaho
at the request of an Idaho county.
-
Since 1998, I’ve
brought our "Conservation Makes $ense" booth to the
National Association of Counties’ annual conferences to
provide support for pro-environment county officials.
Direct
member benefits include:
-
“$$ for Counties,” email notice of grants available
to counties to protect and restore natural resources (In
the last two years, we provided over 60!)
-
Networker, our 10-page quarterly
newsletter, filled with information and ideas for and
about counties to help you protect your natural resources
-
advice and support on natural resource protection issues.
Other benefits
include knowing that you are helping to build a solid
national base of county officials working to protect
America’s natural resources.
With our
“Conservation Makes $ense” booth at the National Association
of Counties’ annual conferences and other networking
activities throughout the year, the Conservation Leaders
Network helps you make your voice heard loud and clear.
And your voice—with
the clout and credibility of your office—can make the
difference.
Individual
memberships are $45/year. We also offer a county
membership for $250/year for up to five county officials.
(Counties with larger Boards can inquire regarding rates.)
I hope you will
join us. Please write a check for $45, $100, or
$250 and return it with your membership form.
