About Us
The
Conservation Leaders Network is the only organization that
focuses on rallying county
commissioners to
protect America’s natural resources.
Founded in
1996, the Executive
Director served as a county commissioner in the early 90’s
in rural Oregon. Her experience as an isolated
pro-environment county commissioner in a timber county led
to the creation of the Conservation Leaders Network.
Our Board of
Directors has included county commissioners, former county
officials and experienced environmental leaders. Current board members hail
from across the country. Scroll down to see who is on our board
now as well as our former board members.
What We Do
The Conservation Leaders Network is the only organization
that rallies county commissioners to protect America's natural resources.
Pro-environment county officials are key to engaging the public and decision-makers and the Conservation Leaders Network is key to making this happen.
“The story of the environmental movement over the next quarter century is about building relationships with the outermost circle of sympathetic citizens. It is about engaging the “environmental majority” and building the deep societal commitment to sustainability that will protect our world for generations to come."
Gideon Rosenblatt, “Movement as Network”
